Canada's new Caregiver Pilot Program, or Home Care Worker Immigration Pilots (HCWP), launches on March 31, 2025. The program will give eligible caregivers a direct path to permanent residency (PR) in Canada. 

Purpose 

· To address the growing demand for skilled home care workers

· To create better opportunities for caregivers and Canadian families

· To offer foreign workers a stable and rewarding future in Canada

Program details

· The program will replace the previous Home Child Care Provider Pilot and Home Support Worker Pilot 

· The program will have two streams: Workers in Canada and Applicants not working in Canada 

· Applicants under these pilots are not subject to the Labour Market Impact Assessment requirement 

Eligibility and application

· Applicants will need to meet language proficiency requirements 

· Applicants may need to submit an Education Credential Assessment report if they obtained their education credentials outside of Canada
